Even though it was a very short book to read. I enjoyed it immensely, having flown over Baffin Island a few times I was always wondered what it's people were like, living in such a forbidden place, Simon captured this by simply talking to the natives and got their views on stuff that really mattered to their lives hunting & fishing ect and just getting on with life in a very inhospitable place.
Fairly good short (24pg) read. Would have like to have more historical & cultural background but the story event was so short I can understand why it wasn't included. It did inspire me to read more on this subject....
I would liked this book to be longer and give more details on the area of Baffin Island and it people.
Strangely devoid of any mention of Canadian culture, perhaps because it is too short. The author does not appear to have considered that Canada could have had any influence on the arctic, only the US through TV. Odd conclusions, unexplored ideas, closed doors. Three stars for good imagery.
