My 1 year old daughter is obsessed with this book. It keeps her occupied for about an hour at a time.Some of the flaps in the book are a little flimsy and easy to rip out but I have repaired them with tape and they're holding up perfectly. I didn't expect anything different, it's less related to the quality of the book and more related to my "aggressive reader".Would recommend in a heartbeat and will buy again if my daughter destroys this copy completely.
This book is fantastic. My one year old loves it! We go through it several times a day. He may not understand all of it, but I simplify it and ask him to 'open the door' 'open the window' 'lift the square' etc, and he loves opening the flaps! I love how big it is and my son is genuinely intrigued by the different pages -- we look at colors, shapes, and I point out common items/words. I think an older toddler would benefit even more from it (ABCs, opposites, counting, etc) and be highly entertained by all this book has to offer. I highly recommend it!
This book is top of the line. Very colorful and bright, and there's so much to do! It takes me and my 1yr old forever to go through it because there are so many little "doors" to open. My son just loves seeing what's hiding behind the next door. The construction of the book is very hardy, the doors need a little more care when opening but it doesn't change the quality this book has. This book also has some great educational perks (colors, ABC's, shapes). It's very fun for a toddler and would definitely make a great gift.
This has provided hours of fun for our 10 month old son. He loves to lift the flaps - and eventually rip them off. Well worth a few lost flaps, given how much he loves and enjoys it! We have had this for 3 months and still are enjoying it.
A great quality lift-the-flap book - perfect for toddlers. I was surpised by the size of this when it came - it's much larger than I expected (a bit bigger than an 8.5x11 piece of paper) - but if you read the full description details you probably won't be as surprised as I was.The flaps are very sturdy - much more so than any other lift-the-flap book we have...in fact this is the only one that has all the flaps. I bought two other ones - the "Where is Baby's Belly Button" one - we've had it less than a week & we're missing a flap already...The only kinda annoying thing for me was opening all the flaps. It comes with the flaps not quite 100% cut open yet - it's kinda like if you've ever had one of those christmas avent chocolate calendar things - where you have to open each flap to get to the candy inside - the flaps are basically just like that (well - to be honest - I haven't had one of those in well over a decade...so I'm assuming they're the same now as they were then...). But it's not a huge deal - you do have to be a bit careful with one or two them though when doing this just cause they're odd shaped flaps (like the triangle kite one).But my son loves this - and he's still not found all the flaps yet (he won't let me show him...I'm not allowed to help him - or really even touch this book when he's playing with it...I have to read from afar as he opens each flap). I highly recommend this to anyone frustrated with a lift-the-flap book that no longer has any flaps.
We first read this book at the library where many of the flaps were damaged or missing, and my 22 month old *loved* it. It features your favorite Sesame Street characters, bright colors, numbers, shapes, letters, and FLAPS! What could be better? There isn't really a story, the book is more about identifying numbers/letters/shapes and, of course, lifting the flaps.While it is an oversized board book, some of the flaps are smaller, and this is a book that is best for toddlers who have learned to be gentle with their books. I expect many kids reach this stage between 18 months and 2 years, but you know your child best. If you are considering it as a gift for a Sesame Street loving child, I think 2-3 years would be a great age.
My son has been playing with this for months now. He loves it and has grown with his speech and everything through this. He loves to open the holes and name what’s inside each one. Yes they can rip off... but hello, it’s a kids paper pop up book! So when I read reviews with complaints about that I think it’s crazy. Tell the child they can’t pull it. If they do and it rips, whatever it’s a toy and it’s made of paper/cardboard. Ours has held up great with MANY uses. I’d recommend this for sure! The joy my child gets from this is worth it for sure!
My son loves this book, the pages are very detailed and we spend a lot of time on just one page. We got this for him when he was 18 months old and he loved when I would read it with him. Now that he's 2 he can follow along with all the letters and numbers on his own. He can spend a lot of time "reading" this book on his own.The biggest con is that he has pulled some flaps off, but that is not the books fault! I should have supervised him better when he was going through a phase :). I will replace the book eventually so he has a full copy again.
